Springfield, MO – A late-night pursuit in Greene County ended with a crash and the arrest of a suspect wanted in an assault investigation, according to authorities.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies spotted Jason Ketchum driving in the 2000 block of North Jefferson. Ketchum, who allegedly had an active felony warrant and a history of fleeing law enforcement, refused to stop when deputies activated their emergency lights. Deputies were also warned that he might have been armed.
According to deputies, Ketchum drove recklessly and allegedly attempted to ram law enforcement vehicles during the chase. The pursuit ended when his vehicle struck a curb and rolled near Kearney Street and Main.
Because of the potential threat of a weapon, deputies surrounded the vehicle with support from the Springfield Police Department’s Special Response Team. Ketchum was safely taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for evaluation before being booked into the Greene County Jail.
Charges will be submitted to the Greene County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review.
