Green Bay, Wis. – Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms could dampen much of Wisconsin today, with a more widespread round of rain expected late Thursday into early Friday morning. Some locations may see near-record cold high temperatures before conditions improve into the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, patchy frost is possible late tonight across central Wisconsin as lows dip into the 30s. By Friday, strong winds and blustery conditions are likely to follow the overnight rainfall, adding to travel concerns for morning commuters.

Drivers along Interstate 41 and U.S. 29 may encounter slick stretches, particularly in the Fox Valley and central counties. The combination of damp roads and gusty winds could slow traffic across portions of Green Bay, Appleton, and Wausau through Friday afternoon. Outdoor events and Friday night football games may feel more like mid-October, with highs struggling to reach the low 60s.

Residents are urged to protect sensitive plants from frost tonight, secure loose outdoor items ahead of Friday’s winds, and plan for heavier coats on both Thursday and Friday.

Sunshine and slightly milder temperatures are expected by Saturday and Sunday, offering a calmer stretch into early next week.
