Green Bay, Wis. – Northern Wisconsin is set for a chilly stretch as a fall-like weather pattern takes hold, bringing rain, gusty winds and near-record lows through Friday before conditions turn sunnier for the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, scattered showers linger over the north today with a stronger system arriving Thursday evening. Widespread rain is expected to continue into early Friday, followed by blustery conditions with highs struggling to reach the low 60s. Patchy frost is possible late tonight and again Thursday night, especially across central Wisconsin.

Drivers should prepare for slick roads during the Thursday night and Friday morning commute as steady rain soaks highways including I-41, U.S. 51, and Highway 29. The cooler air mass will keep overnight lows in the 40s, with some rural spots dipping even colder, raising concerns for crops and late-season gardens.

The chill eases Saturday with sunshine returning, though temperatures will stay well below normal through the weekend. Another warm-up isn’t expected until early next week.
