Green Bay, WI – Wisconsin residents can expect a rollercoaster of weather conditions this weekend, with near-record warmth Saturday followed by storms and cooler air moving in Sunday evening.

According to the US National Weather Service Green Bay, temperatures are forecast to reach the low to upper 80s on Saturday, October 4, making for an unusually hot and breezy fall day. Sunday will be slightly cooler, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s, but still well above seasonal averages. A cold front is expected to sweep through the state late Sunday, bringing widespread showers and thunderstorms.

The weather service also warned of elevated fire danger through the weekend, urging residents to avoid burning yard debris and to use caution when grilling. Officials advise properly extinguishing cigarettes and checking with the Wisconsin DNR for any burning restrictions.

By Monday, October 6, much more typical fall weather will return, with highs dropping into the 60s and even the 50s by midweek. Forecasters say the cooler pattern will last through the first half of next week.

Residents planning outdoor activities this weekend are encouraged to prepare for the heat on Saturday, use caution with fire safety, and keep an eye on storm developments Sunday evening.
