GREEN BAY, Wis. – Showers sliding east early Friday morning will give way to clearing skies and a pleasant stretch of fall weather across northeast Wisconsin. Sunshine is expected to return by afternoon as a drier air mass settles in, providing a comfortable weekend for outdoor plans.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, rainfall will taper from west to east through midmorning Friday, with skies turning mostly sunny by midday. Afternoon highs will range from the upper 50s to upper 60s, near to slightly above normal for mid-October. Forecasters expect mainly dry conditions through Sunday, though a stray shower or sprinkle could brush the far eastern counties Saturday afternoon.

Light winds and mild afternoons will make for ideal conditions for fall activities from Door County to the Fox Valley. Roads should dry quickly after Friday’s showers, and no travel disruptions are anticipated. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation advises motorists to watch for wet leaves on rural and shaded roads, which can cause slick spots.

Cooler overnight temperatures in the 40s will keep early mornings crisp. Residents planning yardwork or outdoor events this weekend can expect comfortable conditions and plenty of sunshine. By early next week, slightly warmer air could lift highs back into the upper 60s and near 70 inland.
