GREEN BAY, Wis. – After a damp start to Friday, much of northeast Wisconsin will enjoy a stretch of calmer, warmer fall weather through Sunday before cooler air pushes in early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, Friday brings spotty showers early, with sunshine breaking through by afternoon. Winds will shift from the south to northwest, gusting near 25 mph along I-43 and U.S. 41. Drivers should expect brief spray and slick spots during the morning commute.

Saturday looks ideal for fall activities, from pumpkin picking to scenic leaf tours around Door County and the Fox Valley. Sunshine and highs near the mid-60s will make for comfortable outdoor conditions. The weather service expects mostly clear skies through the weekend, with light winds and low humidity.

By late Sunday into Monday, a cool Canadian air mass will move south, trimming highs back into the lower 60s. Forecasters say a minor cold snap could arrive by midweek, with early morning lows dipping into the low 40s and potential patchy frost north of Highway 29.

Residents should prepare for brisker mornings next week — a reminder that October’s chill is never far away. Gardeners may want to plan final harvests and protect tender plants before the first frost risk develops.
