Wisconsin – Snow whips across highways and open fields this morning as strong northwest winds push lake-enhanced bands inland. Headlights fade quickly in blowing snow, and plowed roads refill fast. Winter has taken control across Northeast Wisconsin.

The National Weather Service in Green Bay has multiple Winter Storm Warnings in effect through midday and into this evening Monday, with a Blizzard Warning in Door County through 9 a.m. Additional snowfall of 1 to 6 inches is expected across much of the region, combined with wind gusts up to 55 mph.

The hardest-hit areas include Door County, Brown, Outagamie, Winnebago, Calumet, Manitowoc, Kewaunee, Marinette, Oconto, Forest, Florence, and Vilas counties. Cities such as Green Bay, Appleton, Oshkosh, Manitowoc, Sturgeon Bay, Rhinelander, and Eagle River will see widespread blowing and drifting snow through the day.

Travel remains hazardous this morning, especially on I-43, I-41, Highway 29, and Highway 57. Visibility may drop below a quarter mile at times, even after steady snow tapers. To be fair, snowfall rates will ease later today, but drifting will continue into the afternoon and evening commute.

Tree limbs strained by snow and wind could snap, leading to sporadic power outages. Drivers are urged to delay travel when possible and carry emergency supplies if travel is unavoidable.

Looking ahead, colder air locks in tonight. Any melted snow may refreeze, increasing the risk of black ice early Tuesday. Quiet but cold conditions follow into New Year’s Eve Wednesday, with winter firmly established heading into New Year’s Day 2026.
