GREEN BAY — Above-average temperatures will continue across northeast Wisconsin for much of Friday before a brief push of colder air arrives later today and into Saturday, according to the National Weather Service in Green Bay. High temperatures today are expected to reach the mid-20s to low-30s, keeping conditions relatively mild for early February.
By late tonight, a weak cold front will move through the region, allowing cooler air to settle in for Saturday. Highs on Saturday will dip into the upper teens to near 20 degrees, especially north and west of Interstate 41 and Highway 29. While the temperature drop may be noticeable, it is expected to be short-lived.
Light snow chances will remain minimal and spotty through the weekend. Forecasters indicate that any snow showers would be light, with no significant accumulation or travel impacts anticipated. Roads such as I-43, US-41, WI-172, and Highway 29 should remain in good condition, though drivers should still watch for occasional slick spots during early morning or nighttime hours.
By Sunday, temperatures begin to rebound, with highs returning to the mid-20s to low-30s under mostly cloudy skies. A more noticeable warming trend develops early next week, with highs climbing into the mid- to upper-30s by Monday, signaling a return to above-normal temperatures for much of northeast Wisconsin.
Overall, the forecast calls for quiet winter weather, with temperature fluctuations being the primary change rather than snow or hazardous conditions. Residents planning travel across Brown County and surrounding areas should remain aware of overnight temperature drops but can expect generally low-impact weather through the weekend.
As always, motorists are encouraged to stay updated on local forecasts and road conditions, especially during early morning and late evening travel periods when temperatures are coldest.
