Green Bay, Wisconsin – Patchy freezing drizzle could create slick spots on bridges and overpasses along I-43 and US-41 before sunrise Monday, with temperatures dipping into the upper 20s and low 30s overnight.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, lows will fall between 27 and 33 degrees late Sunday night into early Monday. Clouds increase after midnight, and a slight chance of drizzle or freezing drizzle develops toward daybreak. Even light precipitation could create thin ice on untreated roads, especially elevated stretches along I-41, WI-172 and WI-29.
Drivers heading into downtown Green Bay or commuting from De Pere, Howard and Ashwaubenon should allow extra time Monday morning. Bridges over the Fox River and ramps connecting I-43 to WI-172 are particularly prone to icing when surface temperatures hover near freezing. Transportation crews will monitor conditions, but isolated slick spots may develop quickly before crews can respond.
Monday afternoon rebounds into the mid-40s to upper 50s across northeast Wisconsin, melting any early ice and delivering a mostly sunny, mild finish to the day. Sunday highs range from the low 40s to low 50s before clouds thicken overnight.
The window for icy travel appears brief, mainly before 8 a.m. Monday. Additional advisories could be issued if drizzle coverage expands or temperatures trend colder than expected during the early commute.
