Green Bay, Wisconsin – Snow-covered stretches of WI-29 and US-141 could turn slick through 3 p.m. Thursday as a quick-moving system drops up to 1 inch of accumulation across northern Wisconsin.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, periods of light snow will continue mainly north of WI-29, with the highest totals expected near the Upper Peninsula border and far northern Door County. While snowfall amounts remain relatively light, heavier bursts may briefly reduce visibility and coat roadways.
Drivers along US-41 from Green Bay to Marinette should expect changing conditions, especially on untreated secondary roads and rural highways. Snow may stick more efficiently on bridges and overpasses where pavement temperatures remain cold. Areas south of WI-29, including Appleton and Oshkosh, may only see scattered flurries with limited impact.
Temperatures will hold in the 30s Thursday before a significant warmup Friday. Highs are expected to climb into the 40s and lower 50s along I-43 and across Brown and Outagamie counties, improving road conditions to end the workweek.
The mild stretch will be brief. Another chance for light snow develops Saturday, primarily south of WI-29, as temperatures fall sharply back into the teens and 20s for the weekend.
Motorists should remain alert for brief visibility drops today and monitor updates into Saturday as another round of light snow approaches. Additional advisories could be issued if snowfall coverage expands.
