Green Bay, Wisconsin – Light snow and flurries are expected across north-central Wisconsin today, with minor accumulation possible north of Highway 29 on Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, scattered snow showers will move through the region Wednesday, especially across northern counties. Little to no accumulation is expected today.

On Thursday, light snow is forecast mainly north of Highway 29, including areas near Wausau, Stevens Point, and Rhinelander. Forecasters say up to 1 inch of accumulation is possible in those areas. Roads such as US-51 and stretches near Interstate 39 could see brief slick spots during periods of snowfall.

Another chance for snow arrives Saturday, with additional precipitation possible later in the weekend. Most snow accumulation through this stretch is expected to remain on the minor side, according to the NWS.

Temperatures will fluctuate significantly over the next several days. Cold conditions continue Wednesday, followed by a notable warmup Friday when highs are expected to reach into the 40s and low 50s across parts of central and east-central Wisconsin, including near I-41 in Appleton and Oshkosh.

Colder air is projected to return over the weekend, bringing highs back into the teens and 20s by Saturday and Sunday.

Commuters along Highway 29 and Interstate 39 should monitor changing conditions, especially during early morning and evening travel windows.
