Green Bay, WI – Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to impact much of northeast Wisconsin today, with the heaviest coverage forecast from mid-afternoon through mid-evening, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Green Bay.
Forecasters said some of the storms may be strong, with locally heavy rainfall possible. The risk of rain and thunderstorms will extend from Green Bay and Manitowoc west toward Wausau and Wisconsin Rapids, and north toward Rhinelander and Florence.
According to NWS meteorologists, temperatures will range from the mid-60s in northern Wisconsin to the low 70s closer to the Lake Michigan shoreline. Cities including Green Bay, Sturgeon Bay, and Oshkosh could see scattered thunderstorms, while areas farther inland such as Wausau and Wisconsin Rapids also face a high likelihood of storm activity.
Drivers should be alert for reduced visibility and ponding on roadways during heavy downpours. Outdoor plans may be disrupted, as storms could arrive quickly and linger into the evening hours.
The NWS advises residents to monitor local updates for changing conditions and potential weather alerts.
