Green Bay, Wis. – Severe thunderstorms could disrupt much of Wisconsin from late Sunday night into Monday evening, bringing risks of damaging winds, hail, and localized flooding. The strongest storms are expected Monday afternoon and evening across central and east-central parts of the state, including Green Bay, Appleton, Stevens Point, and Wausau.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, multiple rounds of storms are likely, with damaging winds reaching up to 60 mph and hail up to three-quarters of an inch possible. Localized flooding, both in urban areas and rural low-lying regions, could develop as heavy downpours move through.

Communities along Highway 29 and I-41 should prepare for possible power outages, downed tree limbs, and hazardous driving conditions during the evening commute. Emergency managers urge residents to monitor alerts and have multiple ways to receive warnings overnight and into Monday.

Travelers are advised to avoid flooded roads, and residents should secure outdoor items that could become projectiles in strong winds.

Storm threats remain in place through Monday night, with additional advisories possible if the atmosphere destabilizes further.
