Green Bay, WI – Warmer weather is set to return across Wisconsin starting Friday, with highs climbing into the upper 70s and middle 80s on most days next week, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) Green Bay.

The NWS outlook shows above-average temperatures expected from September 16–20, extending into late September based on the 8–14 day forecast. Meteorologists said this stretch of warm weather follows an early September cool-down that gave the state a taste of fall.

According to the NWS, the warm-up is being driven by southerly air flow and an upper-level ridge pattern. This will keep high temperatures well above normal for mid-September, with many locations across Wisconsin likely staying in the 70s and 80s well into next week.

Precipitation chances remain low during this period. The outlook indicates near to slightly above-average rainfall for parts of the Midwest, but forecasters said impacts are expected to be minimal in Wisconsin. Most areas will stay dry, though eastern counties may see brief chances for showers.

The extended forecast suggests the state could avoid a true fall pattern until later this month, giving residents several more weeks of summer-like weather.
