Green Bay, Wisconsin – A brief break in hazardous road conditions arrives today, but another round of messy weekend weather is already lining up, with a rain-snow mix expected to return by early Sunday morning.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, skies will turn partly cloudy today with highs ranging from 36 to 48 degrees across northeast Wisconsin. A 20 to 30 percent chance of light rain develops near the Upper Peninsula border late tonight, though most areas remain dry.
Conditions turn milder Friday, with highs climbing into the mid-40s to low 50s from Green Bay to Appleton and Oshkosh. Cloud cover increases through the day as the next system approaches from the west.
By late Saturday, precipitation chances rise to around 40 percent, with temperatures still above freezing during the day. However, colder air begins filtering in Saturday night, allowing rain to transition into a mix of rain and snow by early Sunday morning. Areas along Highway 41 and into Door County could see slick spots develop during the early hours.
Drivers planning weekend travel should stay alert for changing conditions overnight into Sunday, especially on bridges and untreated roads. Additional advisories may be issued as the system approaches and timing becomes clearer.
