Green Bay, WI – A significant drop in temperatures and chances for snow are forecast to impact northeast Wisconsin this week. Residents should prepare for below-zero temperatures Wednesday night, with daytime highs barely reaching the teens Thursday. Snow is also expected to create slick road conditions across the area.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Green Bay, today will remain dry with highs in the low 40s, but colder air will begin pushing in by Tuesday. Light snow could start as early as Tuesday night, with heavier lake-effect snow possible in northern Wisconsin by Wednesday evening. The coldest temperatures of the week are expected Thursday morning, with lows near -8°F and wind chills reaching dangerous levels.

Roads across northern Wisconsin, particularly near Lake Superior, are expected to become hazardous as snow mixes with freezing rain late Tuesday. Untreated roads in urban areas like Green Bay and highways such as US-41 could also be affected, particularly during evening commutes. Travelers are urged to monitor road conditions closely and allow extra travel time.

The extended forecast shows little relief, with highs only reaching 13°F on Thursday and warming slightly to 20°F by Friday. Overnight lows throughout the week will stay in the single digits or below zero. Wind gusts could also exacerbate cold weather risks, especially for those spending time outdoors.

Residents are encouraged to dress warmly, ensure vehicles are winter-ready, and prepare emergency kits with food and water in case of power outages. Stay updated with the latest forecasts and advisories from the NWS to remain safe during the Arctic blast.
