Green Bay, WI – Rain will spread across Wisconsin early Thursday, bringing a wet start to the day before colder air ushers in a brief return of snow showers by Friday.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, rain will move in from the west Thursday morning and continue through the afternoon. Northern Wisconsin, including areas near Rhinelander and Iron Mountain, could see a mix of rain and snow during the day as temperatures hover near freezing.

Roads across much of the state, including stretches of I-41 and Highway 29, may become slick at times, especially in the north where slushy conditions could develop. By Friday, colder air settles in, leading to scattered snow showers and a noticeable drop in temperatures, with highs dipping into the 30s and low 40s.

Conditions improve heading into the weekend as a warming trend builds. Highs rebound into the 40s Saturday and climb into the 50s by Sunday across Green Bay, Appleton, and Oshkosh, though breezy afternoons are expected.

Drivers should plan for reduced visibility and wet roads Thursday, with changing conditions into Friday. Additional updates may follow if snow showers become more widespread.
