Green Bay, Wisconsin – Wildfire smoke is once again blanketing much of Wisconsin Tuesday morning, with visibility and air quality concerns expected to linger into the afternoon. A warm front arriving Wednesday may shift the smoke northward, but it will also usher in more heat and humidity—raising the risk of thunderstorms across the region through the end of the week.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, isolated storms could arrive late Wednesday, with scattered storms possible Thursday and Friday. Forecasters note it’s still too early to determine severe weather potential, but any storms that form could bring heavy rain due to elevated moisture in the air. Temperatures will climb steadily, topping out near 91 degrees by Friday in some areas, including Appleton, Oshkosh, and Sheboygan.

Motorists should be cautious in areas of reduced visibility from smoke and be prepared for sudden downpours and lightning later in the week. The combination of haze, heat, and incoming storms could make outdoor plans increasingly difficult to manage.

More weather alerts could be issued if conditions trend toward severe, with updates expected daily.
