Green Bay, WI – A widespread frost and freeze is expected across much of Wisconsin late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Green Bay. Forecasters warn that temperatures could dip into the mid-20s to mid-30s, particularly away from the moderating influence of Lake Michigan.

According to the weather service, freeze warnings cover much of central, north-central, and northeast Wisconsin, while surrounding areas remain under a frost advisory. The agency urges residents to take precautions to protect sensitive plants and crops from potential damage as temperatures fall below freezing overnight.

The forecast calls for low temperatures ranging from 26°F to 36°F, with the coldest readings expected in rural inland areas such as Wausau, Rhinelander, and Stevens Point. Along the Lake Michigan shoreline, slightly milder conditions are anticipated but frost remains possible.

Residents are advised to bring in potted plants, cover garden vegetation, and take extra care with any late-season crops. The early-season cold snap marks one of the first significant frost events of autumn across much of Wisconsin.
