Green Bay, WI – Residents across central and eastern Wisconsin face dangerous heat Wednesday, with heat index values expected to soar above 100°F, reaching as high as 103°F in Green Bay and 106°F in Stevens Point and Oshkosh.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Green Bay, extreme humidity will push heat indices into the triple digits by early afternoon, posing serious risks for heat-related illness. A Heat Advisory remains in effect through Wednesday evening. Areas such as Marshfield, Waupaca, and Appleton should brace for potentially hazardous conditions and limit outdoor activities.
Alongside the oppressive heat, multiple rounds of strong to severe storms could roll into Wisconsin late Tuesday night through Wednesday night. The NWS warns of possible damaging winds, heavy rainfall, lightning, and hail, particularly impacting northern counties including Florence and Eagle River.
Local officials advise residents to stay indoors, drink plenty of fluids, and check frequently on elderly neighbors and family members. Pets should also remain indoors and hydrated during peak heat hours.
Forecasters continue monitoring storm evolution closely, with updates likely as conditions develop. The risk of severe weather extends into late Wednesday, prompting caution and preparedness.
