Wisconsin roadways – Light snow arriving late tonight may create slick travel conditions for the Monday morning commute across northeast Wisconsin.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, another round of light snow is expected to move into the area well after midnight and continue into early Monday morning. Snowfall totals are forecast to reach up to 1 inch, with a chance of a light wintry mix at times.
Forecasters said colder, calmer conditions Sunday will give way to late-night snowfall that could coat roads, especially untreated surfaces. While winds will be lighter than recent days, temperatures overnight will fall into the single digits and teens, increasing the risk of icy spots.
The National Weather Service indicated that the highest travel impacts are expected during the early morning hours Monday, when snow-covered and slippery roads may slow traffic. Conditions should gradually improve later Monday as temperatures rise into the upper 20s to mid-30s.
No significant accumulation is expected beyond the light snow amounts, but even small totals may affect visibility and braking during peak commute times.
Drivers are urged to allow extra travel time Monday morning, reduce speeds, and use caution on bridges, ramps, and secondary roads.
