Green Bay, Wisconsin – Moderate snowfall is impacting northeast Wisconsin this morning, leading to a difficult and slow commute as roads quickly become snow covered and slippery, according to the National Weather Service in Green Bay.
A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect across portions of the region through late morning, with snow continuing to fall during the peak commute hours. Forecasters expect 1 to 3 inches of snow across much of the Green Bay area, with locally higher totals possible in heavier bands.
The National Weather Service warned that reduced visibility and slick road conditions are likely, especially on untreated roads, bridges, and overpasses. Travel speeds may be significantly reduced as snow accumulates rapidly during the morning hours.
Snowfall is expected to taper off by late morning or early afternoon, but lingering slick spots may persist even after precipitation ends. Temperatures near freezing will allow snow to stick to road surfaces, increasing the risk of minor accidents.
Drivers are urged to slow down, increase following distance, and allow extra travel time. Officials also recommend avoiding sudden braking and remaining alert for changing road conditions.
Commuters, students, and early-shift workers across Brown County and surrounding areas should plan for continued delays until road crews can improve conditions.
