Gaylord, MI – Residents across northern Michigan can expect lingering showers tonight as weather systems continue to push through the Great Lakes region, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Forecasters said rain will move across parts of the area through tonight and into midday Thursday, with a few showers especially likely near the Eastern Upper Peninsula. Thursday’s highs are expected between 68 and 72 degrees, with rain tapering off by the afternoon.
According to the NWS Gaylord office, conditions will begin to improve Friday. Skies are forecast to turn partly cloudy, with highs ranging from 66 to 78 degrees. By Saturday, high pressure is expected to dominate, bringing mostly sunny skies and warmer conditions. Temperatures should reach between 72 and 79 degrees heading into the weekend.
The stretch of dry weather will provide relief after several days of showers across the Great Lakes region. Forecasters advise residents and travelers to plan for wet conditions through Thursday morning, but more favorable weather is expected as the weekend approaches.
