Cleveland, Ohio – Summerlike warmth will hold across northern Ohio through midweek, but a sharp drop in temperatures arrives late this week as a cold front pushes through the Great Lakes. Highs in the low 80s are expected Tuesday and Wednesday before readings tumble into the 60s by Friday.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, high pressure will dominate through Wednesday, keeping skies dry and conditions seasonably warm. The next chance for rain comes early Thursday when a strong cold front sweeps across the region. Showers and a noticeable drop in temperatures will follow, with highs only reaching the upper 60s to near 70 in cities such as Cleveland, Akron, and Toledo.

Residents across the I-90 corridor from Erie, Pennsylvania to Sandusky, Ohio should prepare for cooler afternoons and brisker evenings late in the week. Travel Thursday morning may also be impacted by scattered rain and wet roads during the commute.

By Saturday and Sunday, highs will remain stuck in the mid-to-upper 60s across much of northern Ohio, a full 15 degrees cooler than earlier this week.

More updates are expected midweek as the timing of the cold front becomes clearer.
