Grayslake, Illinois Memorial Day Parade to Prompt Downtown Road Closures This Monday

Grayslake, IL – Drivers in Grayslake should prepare for road closures and traffic delays Monday morning as the village hosts its annual Memorial Day Parade.

According to the Village of Grayslake Police Department, traffic on Lake Street will be restricted from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 26th. Access to downtown Grayslake via Lake Street will be limited, and motorists are encouraged to use westbound Center Street or alternative routes during this period.

The parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Grayslake Central High School. The procession will travel south on Lake Street, turn east on Junior Avenue, and end at Memorial Park, located at 232 Park Place. A ceremony honoring the holiday will take place at the park following the parade.

Lake Street will be closed starting at 9:20 a.m. and remain shut until the last parade participants have exited the roadway on Junior Avenue and attendees are safely cleared. Police are asking the public to comply with posted barricades, signage, and barriers.

In addition, law enforcement has announced that drones will be deployed for monitoring during the event to ensure safety.
