Grant County, WA – A 70-year-old Coulee City man was arrested Tuesday evening after allegedly threatening five people with a handgun, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said they received a call around 6 p.m. after Gerald Holcomb allegedly made threats to kill and pointed a pistol at five people who had come to assist his wife with moving out of their home on Largent Street.
According to authorities, Holcomb initially refused to leave the residence when deputies arrived. However, he surrendered a short time later without further incident. Officials confirmed no shots were fired, and no one was injured in the standoff.
Holcomb was booked into the Grant County Jail and is under investigation for five counts of first-degree assault. Deputies emphasized that the case remains active and further details may be released as the investigation continues.
Residents in the area were not placed under lockdown, but the Sheriff’s Office noted the seriousness of the threats and praised the peaceful resolution.
