Ephrata, WA – Two Yakima residents were arrested Tuesday after allegedly burglarizing a storage container at a Moses Lake home twice in three days, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

The homeowner in the 11000 block of Neppel Road Northeast reported Sunday that a shipping container on his property was broken into and about $8,000 in items were stolen. He suspected 35-year-old Douglas Raymond of Yakima, who deputies say had previously burglarized the same property.

According to deputies, the homeowner called again around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday after seeing Raymond return and allegedly burglarize the container a second time. Raymond fled in a white Ford F-250 pickup but was stopped on State Route 282, about seven miles south of Ephrata.

Investigators later determined the stolen property was likely at Raymond’s Yakima home. The sheriff’s Crime Reduction Team recovered the items Sunday. Raymond and his passenger, 41-year-old Debra Russo-Wright of Yakima, were booked into the Grant County Jail on suspicion of residential burglary, first-degree theft, and possession of stolen property.

Deputies said the seized pickup is being held pending a search warrant.
