Moses Lake, WA – Detectives in Grant County are investigating after a body was discovered floating in Moses Lake near the community boat launch on Friday.

According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, the body was located in the 7000 block of Dune Lake Road Southeast. Authorities confirmed deputies and detectives were called to the scene to recover the individual and begin their investigation.

Officials have not yet released the identity of the person or details about the circumstances surrounding the discovery. It is unclear how long the body may have been in the water or whether foul play is suspected.

The sheriff’s office said updates will be released as more information becomes available. Residents near Moses Lake may notice an increased police presence in the area as the investigation continues.

Community members are asked to avoid the boat launch area on Dune Lake Road Southeast while law enforcement conducts its work.
