Olympia, Wash. – A family member has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting Sunday morning in the Grand Mound area of Thurston County.
According to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 7 a.m. to a home on 201st Avenue SW after receiving a 911 call about a shooting. Deputies arrived within minutes and performed lifesaving measures until West Thurston Fire crews took over, but the victim died at the scene.
Detectives spent the day serving multiple search warrants, interviewing witnesses, and reviewing evidence. Investigators later established probable cause to arrest a family member on suspicion of manslaughter in the first degree. The suspect was booked into the Thurston County Jail.
