Grand Junction, CO – Much drier weather has settled into western Colorado today, bringing mostly sunny skies and fall-like temperatures to the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Grand Junction, Sunday will be pleasant across much of western Colorado, with temperatures running slightly below normal. Isolated showers and storms cannot be ruled out over the higher terrain during the afternoon, but the majority of the area will remain dry.
Forecasters say a shift in the weather pattern is expected as a disturbance moves inland across the Northern Rockies Monday night into Tuesday. This system may bring isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms, with activity favoring the northern mountains and higher elevations.
Monday’s forecast calls for partly sunny skies with isolated showers possible along the northern border of Colorado. Temperatures are expected to warm closer to seasonal averages as the week begins.
Travelers and outdoor enthusiasts are advised to plan for mostly dry conditions today, but to remain alert for quick-developing storms in the mountains early this week.
