Grand Junction, CO – A wintry weather pattern is set to impact western Colorado this week, with Grand Junction expecting multiple rounds of rain and snow starting Tuesday morning and continuing through Friday night.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Junction, the first system will bring a rain/snow mix Tuesday morning, with snow showers increasing in the afternoon and evening. Tuesday’s high will reach only 48°F, with winds gusting up to 30 mph. An 80% chance of precipitation is forecast.

Tuesday night brings a slight chance of snow after 9 p.m., with lows dropping to 27°F. Snow showers are expected to continue Wednesday morning, tapering off by midday, followed by a high near 53°F. Another round of snow showers may return Friday, with additional light accumulation possible.

While no major accumulation is expected in Grand Junction, residents should prepare for slick roads, reduced visibility, and sudden weather shifts during commutes. Motorists are urged to check CDOT updates and avoid travel during active snow periods if possible.

This week’s weather marks a colder-than-usual end to March. Residents should monitor forecast updates and stay ready with winter gear, especially during early morning and evening hours when temperatures fall below freezing.
