Grand Junction, CO – A cold front is sweeping across western Colorado this weekend, bringing 3 to 10 inches of new snow to the mountains by Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Grand Junction.

Forecasters say cloudy skies and scattered valley showers will accompany the system, with the heaviest snowfall expected in higher elevations of the central and northern mountains. The storm will also bring a notable drop in temperatures, with highs expected to fall below seasonal averages for late November.

Motorists traveling through mountain passes such as Vail, McClure, and Red Mountain should prepare for snow-packed roads and reduced visibility through Sunday evening. The NWS advises checking road conditions before traveling and allowing extra time for winter driving.

Conditions are expected to gradually clear from the northwest late Sunday night, though cold air will linger into early next week.
