Grand Junction, Colorado – High temperatures across western Colorado will be slightly cooler Friday compared to Thursday, but readings are expected to remain above seasonal averages for many valley locations.
According to the National Weather Service in Grand Junction, daytime highs on Friday will drop by only a few degrees from Thursday’s levels. Despite the modest cooling trend, temperatures will continue to run warmer than normal for mid-January, particularly in lower elevations and populated valley areas.
Forecast highs across the Grand Valley and surrounding western Colorado communities are expected to reach the upper 40s to low 50s, while higher elevations remain cooler with more seasonable winter temperatures. Portions of eastern Utah are also expected to see similar mild conditions.
The warmer-than-normal pattern has limited widespread winter weather impacts across valley locations, though mountain areas continue to experience colder conditions and localized snow cover. No winter weather advisories or warnings are currently in effect for valley communities tied specifically to temperatures.
Forecasters note that while today’s readings will not be as warm as Thursday’s, the overall pattern remains relatively mild compared to typical January conditions. Residents may notice cooler mornings, followed by gradual warming through the afternoon hours.
Drivers and outdoor workers should remain aware of localized icy spots during the early morning, particularly in shaded areas, despite the milder daytime temperatures.
For students, commuters, and outdoor workers, the continued stretch of above-normal highs may ease heating demand and reduce cold-related travel concerns compared to earlier winter periods.
The National Weather Service advises monitoring updated local forecasts as temperature trends can shift quickly during winter pattern changes across the Rockies.
