Grand Junction, CO – A late-season spring storm is bringing rain, snow, and gusty winds to western Colorado, affecting travel and outdoor plans through Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service, rain and snow showers will impact Grand Junction and surrounding areas through Tuesday night. Rain is expected early in the day before transitioning to snow in the evening as temperatures drop to 28°F. Wind gusts up to 30 mph will make for blustery conditions. Snow accumulation is expected to be minimal, but slick roads and reduced visibility could impact drivers, especially on I-70.

By Wednesday, conditions will improve with sunny skies and a high near 48°F. Winds will shift from the northwest at 5 to 10 mph, making for a calmer day.

Looking ahead, Grand Junction will see a warming trend. Thursday will be mostly cloudy with a high of 58°F, followed by a mostly sunny Friday with temperatures reaching 54°F. The weekend will bring partly sunny skies and highs climbing into the 60s by Sunday.

Drivers should use caution on Tuesday night, especially in higher elevations, where snow showers may briefly reduce visibility. Warmer temperatures later in the week will provide a true taste of spring across the region.
