Grand Forks, ND – Residents across eastern North Dakota should brace for a windy Sunday as a cold front moves through the region, according to the National Weather Service in Grand Forks.

Winds will shift from southwest to northwest during the late morning and strengthen through the afternoon, with gusts exceeding 50 mph possible. The strongest winds are expected across the Devils Lake Basin, where blowing debris and travel challenges may occur, especially for high-profile vehicles.

Cloud cover will gradually decrease later in the day as cooler, drier air moves in behind the front. Despite the wind, afternoon highs will range from the mid-50s to low 60s.

Motorists, especially those driving large trucks or towing trailers, are urged to use extra caution, and residents should secure outdoor items that could be blown around by strong gusts.
