Grand Forks, North Dakota – Patchy morning fog and a gradual warming trend will bring highs into the 40s along the I-29 corridor through the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Forks, patchy fog developed early Wednesday across parts of eastern North Dakota and northwest Minnesota. Otherwise, a mix of clouds and sun is expected today with southeast winds between 5 and 10 mph.

High temperatures today will range from 28 degrees near Lake of the Woods to the low 40s across southeast North Dakota, including Wahpeton. A sharp temperature gradient will persist across the region, with the coldest readings in far northern Minnesota and the warmest conditions toward the southern Red River Valley.

Thursday and Friday are forecast to remain partly to mostly sunny, with light south winds increasing to around 10 mph Friday. Highs will climb into the mid-30s to mid-40s across Grand Forks, Fargo, and Devils Lake.

By Saturday, temperatures are expected to reach between 33 and 50 degrees, with the warmest readings again across southeastern North Dakota.

Drivers along Interstate 29 from Grand Forks to Fargo and Interstate 94 near Fargo should watch for reduced visibility in areas of morning fog, particularly near river valleys and low-lying areas.

Commuters, school bus drivers, and agricultural operators may notice improving daytime conditions as the warming trend continues into the weekend.
