Flagstaff, Ariz. – Smoke from the Dragon Bravo Fire is expected to drift northeast throughout Sunday, raising air quality concerns across northern Arizona, including the Grand Canyon and communities near Flagstaff.

According to the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ), smoke will continue dispersing toward the northeast and north-northeast through Sunday evening. Overnight, light to moderate smoke is forecast to settle into the Grand Canyon, with some plumes reaching Cameron, Valle, and the outskirts of Flagstaff.

Residents in Tusayan, especially those with respiratory conditions, are advised to limit outdoor activity, keep windows closed, and use indoor air purifiers if available. Visibility could be reduced on sections of U.S. Route 89 and local roadways north of Flagstaff, especially during early morning hours.

ADEQ notes that smoke impacts are likely to continue into Monday, with similar northeastward dispersion expected. This is the latest in a series of smoke events tied to regional wildfires, as dry summer conditions persist across Coconino County.

Another update from ADEQ is expected by Monday morning. Residents can monitor real-time air quality at azdeq.gov/forecast.
