Washington, D.C. — More than 512,500 GoveeLife and Govee smart electric space heaters have been recalled in the United States due to fire and burn hazards. An additional 48,600 units were sold in Canada.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall on November 7, citing overheating risks that could lead to fires. The affected models — H7130, H7131, H7132, H7133, H7134, and H7135 — sold from September 2021 to September 2024, range in price from $30 to $150. Govee received 113 overheating reports, including seven fires and one burn injury.
The CPSC advises consumers to immediately stop using these heaters, unplug them, and cut the power cords. Refunds are available through Govee’s recall site, where customers can submit a photo of the heater with its serial number. Refunds range from $31.80 to $106.63 based on the model.
Consumers who need help with this process can contact Govee’s support team at heatersupport@goveelife.com.
The recalled heaters were sold online at Amazon, Govee’s website, and TikTok Shop. Manufactured in China, these units failed to meet voluntary safety standards, increasing the risk to consumers.
