Glasgow, Montana – High temperatures near 50 degrees are expected across northeast Montana this weekend before colder air and a chance of snow arrive early next week.
According to the US National Weather Service in Glasgow, warm and mainly dry weather will continue through the weekend across communities including Glasgow, Glendive, Sidney, and Malta. Afternoon highs are forecast to reach the mid-40s to low 50s, with Glasgow expected near 45 to 50 degrees through Sunday.
Overnight lows are projected to remain in the 20s, limiting widespread ice concerns but allowing for typical refreeze in shaded areas during early morning hours. Dry conditions are expected to dominate, with no significant precipitation forecast through the weekend period.
Major travel routes including US Highway 2, Interstate 94 near Glendive, US Highway 191, and Montana Highway 200 are expected to remain dry under the mild pattern. Drivers may still encounter isolated slick spots during early morning hours where residual moisture refreezes.
Forecasters note that the warming trend will not last into next week. Cooler temperatures are expected to return early next week, along with the potential for snow across portions of northeast Montana. Specific snowfall totals and timing have not yet been released.
Residents planning outdoor activities this weekend can expect above-normal temperatures for mid-February. The warmer conditions may also impact students, agricultural workers, and commuters traveling along US 2 and I-94 corridors.
Additional forecast updates are expected as colder air approaches the region early next week.
