Glasgow, Mont. – Thunderstorms could rattle parts of northeastern Montana Thursday afternoon before skies clear and temperatures rise heading into the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Glasgow, showers may develop before 3 p.m. Thursday, followed by a slight chance of thunderstorms through 4 p.m. Winds will pick up from the east at 8 to 13 mph, gusting near 20 mph, with highs around 77 degrees. The chance of rain is 20 percent.
Any storms that form may bring brief downpours and gusty winds, but conditions are expected to improve quickly Thursday evening. Lows will dip into the upper 40s under partly cloudy skies.
By Friday, sunshine returns with highs near 77 and light southeast winds. The weekend looks seasonably warm, with highs climbing into the low-80s Saturday and mid-80s Sunday under mostly clear skies. Winds will remain light, though occasional gusts are possible.
Residents planning outdoor events should be mindful of Thursday’s storm window but can expect mostly favorable conditions for travel, sports, and ranching activities through early next week.
