Glasgow, MT – Trick-or-treaters across northeastern Montana will need to bundle up tonight as temperatures are forecast to dip below freezing by early evening, according to the National Weather Service Glasgow.

The agency’s Halloween forecast calls for clearing skies, light winds, and falling temperatures between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. across the region. Many communities, including Glasgow, Poplar, Malta, Jordan, and Sidney, will see temperatures ranging from the upper 30s to the upper 20s by nightfall.

In Scobey, readings are expected to drop to around 27°F, while Glasgow and Glendive will hover near 30°F. The NWS added that sunset will occur between 5:40 and 6:00 p.m., accelerating the evening chill.

“Temperatures are expected to drop below freezing across most of the area by the evening, so bundle up for trick-or-treating!” the NWS advised in its post early Friday.

Despite the cold, conditions should remain dry and calm, providing clear skies for Halloween festivities — just with a definite chill in the air.
