Peachtree City, GA – Georgia is bracing for potentially historic flooding as Tropical Storm Debby lingers, bringing heavy rainfall and storm surges to the region. Persistent, heavy rainfall is expected to impact southeast Georgia and the coastal plain of South Carolina through Saturday morning, with significant flooding anticipated.
According to the National Hurricane Center, dangerous storm surge and tropical storm conditions will spread northward along the Southeast U.S. coast from northeastern Florida to North Carolina by midweek. Residents are advised to follow local officials’ guidance closely. In areas of Florida already impacted, hazards such as downed power lines and flooded areas remain.
