Atlanta, GA – A frost advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. Friday across central and north Georgia as temperatures dip to near freezing. Residents are urged to protect sensitive plants and outdoor vegetation before warmer conditions arrive this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, overnight lows reached 33°F in some areas, prompting concerns for frost formation. Affected locations include Atlanta, Macon, Athens, and Gainesville. Winds will remain light, but clear skies will allow temperatures to drop before warming up later in the day.

Friday will see sunny skies with a high of 66°F, while Friday night brings mild conditions with a low of 52°F. Saturday will be warmer, reaching 72°F, though showers could arrive late at night. Rain is likely Sunday, with a high of 56°F and a 60% chance of precipitation.

Looking ahead, Monday will bring a mix of sun and clouds with a high of 64°F. Tuesday and Wednesday will be sunny and warm, with highs near 73°F.

Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday at 2 a.m., meaning clocks will “spring forward” an hour. Residents should prepare for darker mornings and longer daylight in the evenings.

With frost concerns fading and warmer spring weather ahead, Georgia residents can expect a shift toward milder temperatures in the coming days.
