Atlanta, GA – A foggy morning has settled across much of Georgia, with temperatures reaching around 70 degrees. The National Weather Service expects areas of heavy fog to persist throughout Saturday morning, gradually clearing to mostly cloudy skies in the afternoon. Highs are anticipated to hit 70 degrees in Atlanta, while Columbus may see up to 79 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service, scattered rain showers are expected in northern Georgia, particularly around Dalton, Rome, and Gainesville. Rain chances hover near 100% in some areas, particularly in the northwest part of the state. Tonight’s forecast calls for temperatures to drop, with lows around 56 degrees in Atlanta and 54 in Athens.

By Sunday, another round of cloudy skies and showers is anticipated, with highs ranging from 62 in Blairsville to 70 in LaGrange. This unseasonably cool pattern is expected to linger through the weekend, giving residents a taste of early winter.
