Atlanta, GA – Georgia will shiver under its coldest temperatures of the season as a surge of Arctic air sweeps through the Southeast early next week. According to the NOAA Weather Prediction Center, the strong front will arrive Monday, November 10, bringing widespread subfreezing temperatures and wind chills in the teens by early Tuesday morning, November 11.

Feels like lows include 22°F in Atlanta, 20°F in Gainesville and Rome, 25°F in Augusta, and 26°F in Macon, with frost and freezing temperatures extending all the way to the southern counties near Valdosta. Along the coast, Savannah and Brunswick are expected to dip into the low-30s with patchy frost — rare this early in November.

The National Weather Service offices in Peachtree City and Charleston have issued frost and freeze alerts for nearly all of Georgia. Northwest winds gusting 25 to 30 mph Monday night will send apparent temperatures tumbling into the teens across much of the state.

According to the Weather Prediction Center’s Day 3–7 Hazards Outlook, Georgia sits squarely within the broad “Frost/Freeze” corridor stretching from the Gulf Coast to New England. Forecasters say the scope of the cold wave could rival early-season freezes not seen in several years.

Highs Tuesday will only reach the low-40s in central Georgia and upper-30s in the north, roughly 20 degrees below average. Temperatures will remain below freezing for several hours overnight, likely ending the growing season statewide.

Residents are urged to wrap pipes, cover outdoor faucets, and move pets and plants indoors. Motorists should also watch for frost and black ice on bridges before sunrise.
