Atlanta, GA – A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for far north Georgia, warning of light snow accumulations that could lead to hazardous travel conditions. The advisory is in effect from 1 a.m. Wednesday until 1 a.m. Thursday, affecting areas north of a line from Gainesville to Rome.

According to the National Weather Service Peachtree City, snowfall amounts are expected to be near half an inch, with isolated totals exceeding one inch at elevations above 2,500 feet. Slick roadways are possible, and officials urge drivers to slow down and allow extra travel time.

Although significant snowfall is not expected, even minor accumulations can create dangerous conditions on roads, particularly in higher elevations. The advisory comes as colder temperatures settle into the region, increasing the likelihood of icy patches.

Residents in affected areas should stay updated with the latest weather alerts and use caution when traveling. For real-time updates, visit the National Weather Service Atlanta/Peachtree City website or follow their social media channels.
