Georgia – The air feels calm now across Atlanta, but a dangerous shift is already building as dry air and stronger winds move in. Conditions will change fast by Saturday morning, raising wildfire concerns across north and central Georgia.

According to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, a Fire Weather Watch is in effect from 8 a.m. through late Saturday evening due to low humidity and gusty winds . Relative humidity is expected to drop into the teens and low 20s, while northeast winds increase to 10–15 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

That combination creates ideal conditions for fires to start and spread quickly. Areas across metro Atlanta, including Fulton, DeKalb, Cobb, and Gwinnett counties, face elevated risk. Open fields, wooded المناطق, and dry brush could ignite easily.

Saturday will still look sunny, with highs near the upper 60s. But the air will feel much drier and breezier than usual. Any spark could become dangerous in minutes. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged.

Winds ease slightly by Sunday, with calmer conditions and highs near 69°F. By Monday, temperatures climb toward the upper 70s under mostly sunny skies, signaling a return to more typical spring warmth.

Looking ahead, above-normal temperatures continue into next week, with only limited rain chances. That may prolong dry conditions if rainfall remains scarce.

If you live in the Atlanta area, secure outdoor equipment and avoid activities that could create sparks. Fire conditions can escalate quickly.
