Georgia – Warm, humid air wraps around downtown Atlanta this morning, and clouds hang low over I-75 and I-285 as drizzle develops in spots. Temperatures are already in the lower 60s at Hartsfield-Jackson, and the air feels more like April than February. That springlike start will not last.

According to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, a chance of drizzle continues through early afternoon before skies turn partly sunny. Highs surge to 76 degrees with southwest winds of 5 to 15 mph and gusts up to 25 mph. Showers and thunderstorms become possible after 4 a.m., with lows near 63.

Friday stays unsettled. Scattered showers and storms develop, mainly during the morning and midday hours, with highs near 75. Winds may gust to 25 mph. Roads could turn slick quickly during heavier downpours, especially along I-20 and the Downtown Connector. Plan extra time if storms move through during peak travel.

Showers become likely late Friday night into Saturday. Highs fall to 68 Saturday under mostly cloudy skies. Another round of showers or a thunderstorm is possible before cooler air pushes in.

Here comes the sharp turn. Sunday turns sunny but much colder, with highs only near 51. Sunday night drops to around 30 degrees under mostly clear skies. That sets up a potential freeze across metro Atlanta. Protect early blooms and outdoor plumbing.

Monday stays sunny but cool with highs near 44. By midweek, temperatures rebound into the 50s and upper 50s, and longer-range signals favor above-normal warmth returning late next week. Spring vibes are building, but winter has one more brief reminder.
