Georgia – Fog drapes across metro Atlanta this morning as steady rain and low visibility slow commutes along I-75, I-85, and I-285. Wipers work overtime through dawn, with mist clinging to traffic lights and pavement slick under steady drizzle.

According to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, showers continue through late morning, with 100% precipitation chances before clearing skies later today. Highs will rise near 51°F, but cooler air quickly follows — temperatures are expected to dip to the upper 20s by early Wednesday, signaling the start of a colder, drier stretch across north and central Georgia.

Travelers should plan extra time this morning, especially along major arteries and near Hartsfield–Jackson Airport, where fog may reduce visibility below a mile. Winds remain light, but standing water and wet leaves could make suburban roads slippery.

By Wednesday, sunshine returns with highs near 50°F, followed by partly cloudy skies Thursday and a return of showers Friday into Saturday. Afternoon highs will stay in the upper 40s to low 50s, while nighttime lows hover in the mid-30s — crisp but seasonable for early December.

Meteorologists note no severe weather is expected this week, but the cooler pattern could set up a “Winter Tease” heading into the second week of December.

Keep the rain gear handy today and expect calmer skies midweek — a classic Southern transition from wet to crisp.
