Georgia starts March with a hazy glow over the skyline, and drivers south of downtown are navigating pockets of thick fog before midmorning. Visibility has dropped to a quarter mile in spots, especially along and south of a LaGrange-to-Monticello-to-Washington line. If you’re heading out now, slow down and use low beams.

According to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, dense fog lingers until 10 a.m. across parts of north and central Georgia. After it lifts, sunshine takes over with highs soaring to 75 degrees in Atlanta. Calm winds turn light out of the west this afternoon, giving the city a true Spring tease.

Tonight turns mostly cloudy with lows near 52. Monday stays partly sunny and cooler, with highs around 64 and east winds gusting up to 20 mph. Clouds thicken Monday night, but widespread hazardous weather is not expected through midweek.

By Tuesday, highs climb back to 68 under mostly cloudy skies. Wednesday pushes to 75, and Thursday flirts with 78 with a 30% chance of showers after 1 p.m. That’s well above average for early March and a clear sign of warming up across the Southeast.

We gain more daylight each evening this month, and clocks spring forward at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 8. The 6-10 day outlook favors above-normal temperatures, reinforcing this early Spring warmth trend.

For now, focus on visibility through midmorning. Are you seeing fog delays on I-285 or GA-400?
